Prerequisite:
- Docker is installed and running. I have installed a Docker desktop community edition.
Steps:
- Create a file with the name
docker-compose.yml
. - Copy the following content and paste it into a
docker-compose.yml
.
version: "3.1"
services:
localstack:
image: localstack/localstack:latest
container_name: localstack_demo
ports:
- "4563-4599:4563-4599"
- "8000:8080"
environment:
- SERVICES=${SERVICES- }
- DEBUG=1
- DATA_DIR=/tmp/localstack/data
volumes:
- "./.localstack:/tmp/localstack"
- "/var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock"
- If there is any problem due to indentation, you can download the original file from here.
- Open PowerShell from the folder where above
docker-compose.yml
is kept. - Run
docker-compose up
command. - Builds, (re)creates, starts, and attaches to containers for all LocalStack services.
- Now you can work with Localstack services like S3.
